j4m3s
mc_, what is node.js?
saratogga
mc_, how does one use the provisioning api that you guys developed if that is all we need?
j4m3s
someone teach me how to node
saratogga
or is the provisioner that's open source 100% operational?
I will easily pay $10 per phone provision on a SaaS model if I never had to worry about that again
there's a market there for this
mc_
saratogga: afaik, you use our monster app for provisioner on hosted platform
or uncover the APIs
which hook up to our provisioner service on the backend
which isn't available outside the hosted platform
again, afaik
sales will have the details there for sure
saratogga
are you familiar with this: https://github.com/urueedi/kazoo-provision
?
did this originate at 2600hz?
mc_
saratogga: nope, first i've seen this
can't say good or bad about it
saratogga
realistically, can RingCentral if they wanted to move over to use 2600hz as their new backend? In theory of course
mc_
saratogga: definitely
saratogga
and if they wanted to they can just use whatever is already made available as open source and just host it all themselves?
mc_
kazoo only offers data REST APIs
saratogga
what do you mean?
mc_
yup
we don't render web pages or anything
no special relationship between monster and kazoo
saratogga
oh so what is monster?
mc_
so anyone can use the APIs to build tailored UIs on top of kazoo
monster is our UI for kazoo
saratogga
I thought you provide the UI for all our business PBX end users as well
mc_
hosted platform uses it
yes, they would use monster to login for the hosted platform
but its also open source (and a couple apps for it)
so folks can get started
but again, nothing about monster is special, just uses the publically available APIs
with regard to kazoo
we think monster offers a great experience to the user
esp less technical ones
saratogga
what origination providers are supported natively in Kazoo? For example can I use my existing Bandwidth.com API credentials?
mc_
saratogga: you can bring your own carriers, yes
saratogga
for the number provisioning APIs and all that - what providers' APIs are supported? Bandwidth, vitality, etc?
mc_
and as a reseller, you can have your subaccounts use your carriers too
so you'd only pay for seats/services, not minutes/trunks
if you choose
saratogga
yes all my customers will use my termination and origination providers
can I talk to someone on the phone instead of going through the sales email tag?
or should I start with an email?
mc_
saratogga: let me find the sales number
saratogga: try 855.464.2600
saratogga
ok thanks
mc_
that's what our website says anyway :p
saratogga
lol
tyk
back
Does anyone know why I'm not getting this option? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qFs9FFUgFwU&index=2&list=PLwhBNccjGCsZ6tS-3QBdLqSbb_5QpJZb5
JR^1
tyk: are you on your own install?
tyk
Yes I am
JR^1
it works in the video because we have a provisioner URL set in the js/config.js file of Monster
tyk
Ahh OK, so which files do I upload to the server and what should the URL say
I've been playing around with it but can't find any solid documentation to assist
// If you have provisioner turned on in your install and can use the one provided by 2600hz, add the URL in the 'provisioner' key below
provisioner: ,
Is that what youre ref too?
JR^1
yes
tyk
what files do I need to upload from Github ... and where do I put them?
Thanks for your help btw
JR^1
but provisioner only works on hosted afaik
tyk
hmmm, can we pay for that module?
JR^1
you should contact sales@2600hz.com because I'm not even sure what we do with provisioner at this point
tyk
How are people managing provisioning at the moment? Just manually?
saratogga
sounds like a great market opportunity for a phone provisioner SaaS
tyk
so frustrating! lol
saratogga
tyk, would you pay $5 per device?
then once you provision a device once all future provisions/updates are free
tyk
Probably not, we'd work something out that is cheaper
saratogga
yeah but then you need to maintain it, deal with firmware updates etc.
$5 per phone one time fee is dirt cheap I feel like
you can pass it on to the client in many ways
tyk
Do you have a product in mind?
saratogga
well we're building our own provisioner from scratch so the thought came up to offer it as a stand alone SaaS product
for other smaller hosted PBX vendors to use
tyk
Ahh yeh
I think i'll be able to get it working
there are some alternatives online that work with Kazoo
voice.telephonic.com.au
saratogga
like what?
tyk
https://github.com/urueedi/kazoo-provision
sorry wrong URL - that one
saratogga
yeah saw it earlier
tyk
Does anyone have the instruction guide for SSL installation for a clustered Kazoo deployment?
\
MrFrenchyPants
neurosys: yeah wth?
tyk
G'day, just wondering if anyone can help me I'm installing the urueedi/kazoo-provision package from GitHub
Having a few problems running the configuration - PHP script is just freezing on me
btracht00
morning all
esoare
can anyone recommend a SaaS company that will do billing and taxing? ****
saratogga
like http://cgrtbilling.com/?
esoare
saratogga: I think so... I used the 2600hz hosted platform, and was hoping a company would be all integrated into that.
used = use :)
saratogga
yeah they don't offer any billing stuff
esoare: how do you like it so far?
esoare
saratogga: love it! I've been with them for 2-3 years now. great reliability!
