hmmhesays
can you reset the password on the master account on the command line?
voxter
not that i am aware of
not syaing its impossible, but i dont know how
neurosys
hmmhesays: nope you'd have to jump into the document and modify the user on teh master account
hmmhesays
neurosys, that's fine I can do that, how is the password hashed?
neurosys
MD5/SHA1
hmmhesays: Nothing fancy :)
hmmhesays
gotcha easy enough. You still using kazoo heavily?
neurosys
All ive used for about 3 years now
hmmhesays
Nice, I'm just getting into it
We've scored some good orig deals, gonna start offering some pbx services
You using Monster yet?
neurosys
hmmhesays: Very very nice! You gonna come to KazooCon!? We need a catch upp drink!
hmmhesays: Only in dev cluster.
hmmhesays: Truth is no one uses the GUI at all... lol
hmmhesays: they love that it's there But they ALWAYS call when they need changes or whatever
hmmhesays
I plan on using the GUI as an agent interface
neurosys
hmmhesays: Thankfully my support crew is also dubbed "the maytag repair men"
hmmhesays
lol
neurosys
hmmhesays: well it's def ripe for any app or interface you wish to ass to monster
hmmhesays
neurosys, I need to verify viability in this project if we decide 100% we're going to run with it I'll talk to Darren about kazoocon
my biggest concern is being able to integrate my DID database and getting CDR's out of couch
neurosys
hmmhesays: Grabbing the CDRs is very simple...
hmmhesays
I'd like to change the storage backend all together
neurosys
hmmhesays: theres a CLI filter you can use easily enoiugh and gram in JSON or CSV if you're feeling like an old man :P
hmmhesays
I don't want CDR's anywhere near routing db wise
neurosys
hmmhesays: I think that will not be so easy...
hmmhesays
if anything freeswitch can still write CDR's
and my orig system will keep track of CDR's into kazoo
I'm hoping it's going to be easy to pull data from my orig system though. Basically just a json api
neurosys
hmmhesays: Im not sure how good your erlang is, but i cant imagine it be too difficult to get her to write to your fav DB, and mod the JS in monster to read from that DB as well
hmmhesays: not a fan of NoSQL?
hmmhesays: or you worries it cant handle the load?
hmmhesays
neurosys, not particularly, large structured datasets lend themselves better to an sql environment
not to mention time to market, I have a tested system for CDR's right now that handles several million records a day
no need to reinvent the wheel there
neurosys
hmmhesays: Welp, I know the 2600hz crew has well over 100k endpoints and they're hadling it. maybe talk to mc_ and he may have some magic on how to either guide you to your destination or point you in the right direction to intergrate your CDR DB
hmmhesays: Im pretty useless in regards to erlang so I cant help :(
voxter
CDR's in couch suck
I'll tell you straight up
we're working to move them into elasticsearch
neurosys
hmmhesays: There ya go ^ :P
voxter
it "works" in couch, but its absolutely not ideal.
stormqlo_
put them in sql direct from freeswitch
voxter
you can do that too if you want
we're consuming cdr events from amqp and shipping them to elasticsearch
stormqlo_
there is also the amqp binding to sql route or whatever
I use elasticsearch on the log files
neurosys
(Action) takes notes
stormqlo_
Lots of people have a different switch in front of their kazoo
that's the reason you don;t see more CDR complaints
you can set the "realm" to pass to your carriers.
Then if you have your own LD switch or whatever you can pickuop the calls for billing
hmmhesays
being I only need cdr's into and out of the network it shouldn't be hard
voxter
yeah, its not that its /hard/, its just that there's 10 ways to do it
and each have a varying list of pros/cons depending on what you care about
there is unfortunately no "out of the box" perfect solution to just slurping up ALL cdrs
stormqlo_
Some people us e radius still for exmaple
it's more a business issue then a phone issue
the biggest issue with kazoo is you must get past the erlang hangup
hmmhesays
erlang hangup?
neurosys
hmmhesays: feature where erlang hangs up on random callers :P
stormqlo_
well it's a language 99.9% of people have never heard of before and will never use again
neurosys
stormqlo_: from what i can tell erlang is not terribly complex. Its how it's used in kazoo that is the headace
stormqlo_
IT's just a massiv elearning curve like everyhting else in Kazoo. I've finally buckled down and written a couple erlang new features for kazoo this week and submitted them
hmmhesays
from what I've seen you don't have to mess with erlang too much
neurosys
hmmhesays: not unless you want to make some serious changes.
stormqlo_
that's absolutely true.
neurosys
(Action) high fives stormqlo_
stormqlo_
Kazoo is 100% usable without getting into erlang
neurosys
stormqlo_: yep
stormqlo_
I'd like to be able to do kazoo development tho, that's why I'm buckling down
neurosys
stormqlo_: I still do not know erlang. Nor do i even code anything anymore lol
stormqlo_
there are pbx clients I cannot move to kaoo without a few features
neurosys
stormqlo_: yep
stormqlo_
like the caller id thing I just submitted
neurosys
Caller ID?
stormqlo_
I have a few clients that already use it
neurosys
stormqlo_: What's it do?
stormqlo_
well I have an issue that a few clients want to use different caller id
and I dont; want to program a different line key on their phone for each one
ie small business owner that has a few names that he uses
neurosys
stormqlo_: right
stormqlo_
anyway no easy way in kazoo right now that I could find
neurosys
stormqlo_: i do the unique line key method now
hmmhesays
I need to roll in a provisioning system also
stormqlo_
y so I made a callflow to handle it
hmmhesays
hopefully that is easy too haha
stormqlo_
so you dial a featuree code to select your caller id name and number
so for example you dial *20115149072508
*2 is the feature code
hmmhesays
How's presence in kazoo?
stormqlo_
"01" is the caller id name and number to use
15149072508 is the number to finally dial
neurosys
stormqlo_: heh be cool of you could make an XML application, IE for polycom, to insert that into an active callflow
stormqlo_
you can use it in your no_match
neurosys
hmmhesays: Works wonderfully
hmmhesays: (now) hehe
stormqlo_
anyway it fixes an issue for a few of my clients. One place has 12 DID's they want to use for outbound calling depending on the user
neurosys
holy moly lol
