neurosys
stormqloud_: digit_timeout_ms is the attribute?
stormqloud_
for konami to give you some extra time?
neurosys
ya
stormqloud_
I put it in my account db but then I got distracted
but yes I think this is the parameter
it's derfaulting to .8 seconds which I find too fast
I bumped it to 1200 from 800 ms
I didn;t test it yet tho, I got dragge into somethign else
neurosys
stormqloud_: hehehe
stormqloud_
finally getting some familiarity with reading the erlang code to find my own answers
hmmhesays
erlang is interesting
stormqloud_
when I learned about functional languages in universirty they sounded crazy, too theoretical
life_in_4k
they definitely have their place
purely functional languages get rid of a lot of overhead
(in your code and in the implementation
stormqloud_
its hard to imagine using one in the "real world" without seeing somethign like kazoo etc. IT's a bit like object oriented, when that came around it was a big change from gosub!
I'm old tho, I had to learn assembly language
hmmhesays
objected oriented didn't change much imho
stormqloud_
erlang is certainly interesting, it's so different from anything else from "LAMP"
hmmhesays
I'm having trouble finding any good doc's on bigcouch
stormqloud_
there isn;t much
btw it's couchdb 2.0 that is "bigcouch"
bigcouch is a fork of couchdb, it's seems some of the bigcouch stuff is getting folded back in for 2.0
hmmhesays
I'm interested in how the partitioning works
seems like an integral piece if you want to grow it to really big data
stormqloud_
avoid partitioning
your data should not get that big I don;t think
hmmhesays
gotta plan for it to be
stormqloud_
when I was at training for kazoo I asked this question
hmmhesays
what happens when you put 100 million cdr's in couch?
stormqloud_
and was told to use q=1
you can export the old cdr's
the couchdb databsae rolls over every month
for each account
hmmhesays
what do you mean?
stormqloud_
the q=1?
hmmhesays
no, it rolls over
it dumps cdr's every month?
stormqloud_
well the cdr is kept inside a second database not the account database
hmmhesays
so what do you mean by "it rolls over"
stormqloud_
well every month this database is "closed"
and then a new one is started
so August CDR exists within a different coudb database then septembers cdr
for each account
hmmhesays
is this just for cdr's?
stormqloud_
ie these ones account/5c/3e/ad0f6b992082d9d08e0ba02c76c3-201505
these databases are not the account setup detail backups
they contain the cdr's
faxes (I think soon or already)
etc
hmmhesays
good to know
stormqloud_
so your cdr is rolling over every month for every account
so if you want you can replicate/clone whatever the old CDR to another machine
antoher couchdb cluster etc
So basically you don;t keep years of CDR online in bigcouch
you shouod probably export the CDR into a SQL DB if you want ot keep it for years and be queriable etc
hmmhesays
or bypass couch completely.
stormqloud_
well you probably always want to have th elatest month cdr in couchdb
cause that's what the UI uses
hmmhesays
the UI is just calling an API to grab CDR"s now?
*no?
stormqloud_
yes
neurosys
I am Groot.
stormqloud_
my suggestion would be to double up on your cdr
push it to sql and couchdb
and then you can drop the old couchdb database after 1 month
hmmhesays
So what is the point of using couch then? Because of it's fault tolerance?
neurosys
Good morning
jde|laptop
hey guys, on older style polycom phones when I dial a 7 digit number, kazoo autocorrects to the appropriate 10 digit. On newer VVX phones, this autocorrect doesn't appear to happen and I get a "call cannot be completed" error. Anyone have any experience with this?
neurosys
jde|laptop: taht would be something within the polycom digit mapping. Nothing to do with Kazoo
jde|laptop
interesting
pretty sure I never configured it on my old polycoms
I'll look into it
hmmhesays
yeah default polycom configs have a lot of translations in them
jde|laptop
I mean, it does make sense
that its a device thing I mean
hmmhesays
polycom calls it digit maps iirc
neurosys
yep
jde|laptop
yeah I've messed with digitmaps before but I'd never heard of the RRXXXR syntax for inserting area codes
interesting stuff
vralev
is this what internally kazoo refers to as "reconciling numbers" with some rules? If you hit the rule it will work in any case.
hmmhesays
Is there such a thing as outbound registration to carriers?
nde
lazedo: Are around by chance? Just curious if you could tell me what c# library your using.
lazedo
nde SocketIOClient
nde
lazedo: That's interesting.
I can get connected I just can't receive with socket.on("CHANNEL_ANSWER") or anything else
btracht
anyone here today??
looking for help with blacklists
voxter
happy friday everyone!
jde|laptop
voxter: were you the one having issues before with sticky BLF? How did you resolve that?
j4m3s
voxter, yeah how is 3.2x?
jde|laptop
I'm on 3.21
j4m3s
and you are seeing sticky blf?
jde|laptop
phones are Polycom VVX, using UDP for protocol/control
yeah I am
I haven't tried TCP yet in this particular scenario, but I've had bad experiences with SIP and TCP so I try to avoid it
j4m3s
i'm about to upgrade to 3.20 but was considering going up to 3.21
MikeDunton
@lazedo i am upgrading to 3.19 and I am having issues with kamailio. I get an error in the kamalio log ERROR: kazoo [kz_amqp.c:395]: kz_amqp_add_connection(): connection url exceeds max size 50
Whats the deal with the length limitation
voxter
im on 3.2.0, im not having any blf issues
