FRIGN
Evil_Bob: THE KING OF OPTIMIZATIONS!
and it is "depend on" instead of "depend of"
Evil_Bob
FRIGN: send a patch fgt :P
FRIGN
Evil_Bob: btw, just wondering: why no getline instead of a fixed INPUTSZ-line-length?
Evil_Bob
FRIGN: dunno, yea it should probably be used
k0ga
now
ok
FRIGN
Evil_Bob: If used proprly, getline is faster
;)
Evil_Bob
FRIGN: please address k0ga, im not too familiar with the codebase yet :)
FRIGN
k0ga: I'm addressing you now
k0ga
it should work in any posix system without env.sh
FRIGN
k0ga: didn't for me :P
k0ga
openbsd is not posix in a lot of ways
FRIGN: do you have c99 in your system?
FRIGN
k0ga, let's just do it like all suckless projects. It's the best way and it makes me feel good inside
k0ga: no, I only have c89 on my system, but I downloaded c99 from sourceforge yesterday
but I don't know what to do with c89.deb. Can you help me there?
*c99.deb
k0ga
FRIGN: ok, we can change the build system to a suckless system way
it is a suckless project now
so it is the logical step
FRIGN
k0ga: oh yeah! :D
k0ga
even if I don't agree
suckless makefiles are too much complex :P
xD
it is also true that posix definition of make sucks, a lot
I cannot imagine why they don't add include clause to make
Evil_Bob
just use the relatively sane parts of POSIX :)
FRIGN
k0ga: but we use include in the Makefile
include config.mk
but maybe I misunderstand and you just talk about POSIX
k0ga
I know, I mean that in the moment you add include to your makefile is not portable
hhhhhhhh
how come when you backspace at readline prompts in st you just get a ^H
Evil_Bob
hhhhhhhh: read the FAQ
k0ga
uhmmmm
it should work now
FRIGN
k0ga: I don't think we have to worry about that too much
k0ga
if you get a ^H is because you have a old version of st
FRIGN
we have to keep the 95% in mind, not the 5%
k0ga
FRIGN: yeah, although my makefiles covered the 99%, only OpenBSD had the problem :P
xD
FRIGN: are you going to change them?
FRIGN
k0ga: no, I'm not familiar with the codebase
k0ga
I meant the MAkefiles
FRIGN
yeah
I'm not familiar with the codebase
How am I going to write the bloody buildsystem? :P
k0ga
hhhhhhhh: did you read what I have said?
hhhhhhhh
no
the patch linked from the faq did it tho
k0ga
FRIGN: ains, you claim and you don't send a patch :P
Evil_Bob
FRIGN: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KtCsmSMRiC0
k0ga
hhhhhhhh: are you using the last version of the repository?
hhhhhhhh
im using one from a few days ago maybe
k0ga
hhhhhhhh: it means you have an outdated config.h
in config.h.def you will find the configuration which will solve your problems
Evil_Bob

k0ga
FRIGN: Evil_Bob: This is the first suckless project with recursive make
FRIGN
k0ga: wrong
k0ga
no?
FRIGN
http://git.suckless.org/9base/tree/
;)
k0ga
:)
Evil_Bob
FRIGN: Plan NEIN https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xoMgnJDXd3k
FRIGN
yes
k0ga: can you recommend a good z80 emulator?
k0ga
I can recommend good msx emulators
FRIGN
k0ga: okay, doo eet :D
just, you know, for testing programs ;)
k0ga
fmsx is one that is really simple and without dependencies
but is not really accurate
FRIGN
ok
thanks dude :)
k0ga
you can use openmsx that is really accurate but is a big mesh written in c++ with millons of dependencies
FRIGN: but don't worry, we are going to switch to x86/amd64 architecture
FRIGN
k0ga: how much work is it going to be?
k0ga
(well, could be kandy if we can keep also z80)
FRIGN: a lot
the good thing is that mpu has already something
for the code generator
this is the reason why we want to join our projects
FRIGN
mpu?
who is this?
k0ga
and why I stopped working in cc2
mpu/qcar
FRIGN
I don't know him
Evil_Bob
just thinking about a suckless C compiler makes me super erect tbh
FRIGN
https://avatars2.githubusercontent.com/u/1117246?v=3&s=400
is this him?
k0ga
the guy who wrote the small yacc compiler
FRIGN
kk
k0ga
and Edit
kk?
FRIGN

k0ga
