gillz
egrep: who uses cat 5 these days
egrep
gillz: Whoever gave me that cable, apparently.
gillz
so you stole it
egrep
No, I was handed it.
gillz
That is what I told the police but they still did not trust me
egrep
You should've told them "but you can't arrest anybody who can use a spork to strip a cat-5 cable!".
Then hold a spork in an alluring, yet menacing way.

stateless
FRIGN, lol
lostd
FRIGN: try Fischerspooner
lol, fdm uses .netrc for passwords
nice
optionally
FRIGN
lostd: haven't seen you here in a while
how was it in the suckless re-education camp?
lostd
FRIGN: hehe, you mean staying at stateless'?
he is gonna get rid of me soon :P
yeah, I don't know, I'm not talking too much I suppose
I'm here though
FRIGN
lostd: why are you staying at his place`
?
Do you need a bro to cry on the Greek economy? :P
lostd
hahaha FRIGN
I'm going back Saturday, I've defered the crying till then
__20h__
FRIGN, then you didn't read the error message of portage.
FRIGN
__20h__ I've been working with portage for 3 years
The tree is fu*ked, simple as that
Too many blocks, no incentive to resolve it all really
__20h__
FRIGN, I always got my problems to resolve.
As always: Send them patches to fix it. Portage is really flexible.
atmc
whaddup bois
__20h__
atmc, we have been beating up some Red Hat guys at the East Side because they were trying to sell dope in our borders.
k0ga
__20h__: how much time are you going to stay in Argentina?
__20h__
k0ga, until Friday.
k0ga
wow
you crossed the world for only a week?
__20h__
k0ga, I've been doing that for my whole life.
atmc
__20h__: bring some meat to germany
__20h__
atmc, we already have Spaniards in Germany.
k0ga
atmc: yeah, Argentina has very good meat
__20h__
Argentina has bad meat too.
Like all the Bolivians and Chileans.
k0ga
__20h__: yeah, they have a lot of germans there
:P
__20h__
k0ga, we don't eat Germans.
k0ga
__20h__: when are you going to send your first patch to scc?
:P
__20h__
k0ga, when I'm using it.
C Compilers are not an area of my interest.
z3bra
yo
k0ga
__20h__: but it is important for the world domination plan
stateless
I just interviewed someone and asked him to explain what volatile is
he basically stated some C code, then went on to generate the equivalent assembly code with and without volatile and sent me a diff
his asm was wrong and I failed him because he could not explain it in one sentence.
also his answer to what the static keyword means, took about 5 minutes of explaining
k0ga
the definition of volatile is simple
stateless
k0ga, lol
you would be surprised how many people do not understand it
k0ga
xD
yeah
the correct answer is every access to the variable means a point of synchronization over such variable
as far as I know this is the definition in the standard
point of synchronization are the places were lateral effects over variables must be shown to the programmer
stateless
k0ga, ok
thing is, you need to give an example too :P
k0ga
stateless: this point is funny, because this 'shown' means a lot of different things
for example:
intt f(void)
{
volatile int t;
t = 1;
while (t != 0);
}
Evil_Bob
bloooat
stateless
lol
k0ga
in this case t != 0 doesn't mean that the compiler must read the variable in each iteration
because this variable is not visible out of the function
so there is no posibility of change of the variable
stateless
yes
k0ga
BUT
if the variable is static, is totally different topic
the variable can be modified by another instance of the function
stateless
yes
it can also be modified with a gamma ray gun
k0ga
hahahahahhahahah
