dsockwell
that isn't an insult
biniar
currently i am broke paying rent and bills
but i need to get a laptop
dsockwell
i have a W510 which is a T420 with 2 more DIMM slots
more or less
have never wished it had anything but like 3 more monitors
Evil_Bob
i dont really need a laptop, but its just nice to have another PC for testing
biniar
dsockwell: Lenovo of course?
dsockwell
yes of course
W for Workstation
T for Tank
biniar
:)
dsockwell
i forget whether the W510's frame is cast or stamped
but it's hardcore steel
i could kill someone with this laptop and keep on using it
biniar
can we test this out?
gillz
biniar: get a c720
dsockwell
sure, biniar
come visit me and i'll clobber you some
then irc about it
gillz
dsockwell: will then cook some bacon
biniar
random test subjects not included :(
stateless
biniar, t420 works perfectly for openbsd and it is my primary machine
no performance probs
I have 8g of ram though at 1600mhz and an ssd
it has an i5
don't remember which gen
it gets hot though
biniar
i am going to ask around and see if anyone i know has one to sell soon
http://sprunge.us/XWYO
I also have to figure out this problem
or script kiddie
or config issue
tm512
this internet is reminding me of dialup
20 packets transmitted, 20 packets received, 0.0% packet loss
round-trip min/avg/max/std-dev = 634.912/665.879/710.080/19.254 ms
biniar
20 packets transmitted, 20 packets received, 0.0% packet loss
round-trip min/avg/max/std-dev = 35.558/39.995/56.358/4.590 ms
xenkey
tm512: pretty fast
henriqueleng
I'm finishing my firsh shell program, a simple site builder
Evil_Bob
henriqueleng: http://git.2f30.org/divzeroweb/ and http://git.codemadness.nl/static-site-scripts/ :)
stateless
biniar, I already know the answer I think but I will let you have a crack at it :P
henriqueleng
Evil_Bob: I saw, but no one have the tyle I want, Your script call a strange date command, that don't run on my OpenBSD
s/tyle/style
Evil_Bob
henriqueleng: $ date "+%Y-%m-%dT%H:%M:%SZ"
2015-07-22T22:33:06Z
works for me
hmm
henriqueleng
Evil_Bob: It worked now, but it was failing when I call the script, don't know why
Evil_Bob
henriqueleng: ah i see: contentrsspubdate=$(date "+%a, %d %b %Y %H:%M:%S GMT" -d "${timeupdated}")
fails, ill fix it at some point
henriqueleng
Evil_Bob: Ok
Evil_Bob
my scripts are very specific for my needs though and the template is hardcoded in the script (intended)
the divzeroweb scripts are a bit more generic, i like them aswell
henriqueleng
Its Incredible how the the high level of shell was making my code suck
I was doing things twice because its easy
Evil_Bob
what do you mean?
henriqueleng
Evil_Bob: Too hard to explain, I'm a bit tired now :)
but its basically that I was doing complex commands to for example detect folders, I don't know if its faster to do ls | grep /, or find . -type d
Evil_Bob
i would use find . -type d
henriqueleng
Evil_Bob: BTW, I its working, with time I will clean it
Evil_Bob
what is?

tm512, dialup latency was much better than what you are seeing there :P
tm512
yeah, I was talking throughput mainly
I'm on satellite
stateless
ah ok
for satellite round-trip looks about right :P
what throughput do you get btw?
tm512
throughput is a bit better now
stateless
1.5mbps or so?
tm512
but at first it couldn't keep me connected to my bouncer
stateless
ah
Evil_Bob
stateless: upgrade went fine from 5.7 hmm
tm512
I'd have to run a speedtest or something
stateless
Evil_Bob, it can work but not guaranteed
tm512
I can't stream 720p video on it, at least.
stateless
yeah
Evil_Bob
stateless: i tarred and copied /usr/src and /usr/ports from my previous install and ran upgrade-obsd :)
stateless
nivr
nice*
tm512
after using the pok3r for so long it's kind of irritating to not have caps+ijkl function as arrow keys
stateless
:)
