Evil_Bob_
didnt read all the books though, but i will at some point
tm512
I've never read the books
dsockwell
what strikes me about that scene is that the fist shaking seems forced and uninspired
i'm not sure if those are just cheap extras or brilliant method actors
Evil_Bob_
dsockwell: as an expert in fisting i agree
dsockwell
this needs more study
tm512
debugging with disassembly is annoying
all I know is that I get a page fault on mov 0x8(%rax),%rax
(Action) [j] Boards of Canada - Buckie High [A Few Old Tunes Vol.2]
Drakevr
dsockwell: cheap extras iirc
dsockwell
of course
Evil_Bob_
atmc: cool video btw, watched the computerphile one
tm512
I'm making a bad "pool" allocator
fixed-size allocations
from a linked list of free nodes
dsockwell
are you not using debugging symbols?
tm512
I'm running the code on bare metal
well, VM, but still
dsockwell
x86?
tm512
x86_64
dsockwell
gotta be some kind of symbolic aid for that by now
tm512
qemu is supposed to be able to act as a gdb server
I couldn't get it working the one time that I tried it though
dsockwell
rip
tm512
I found the problem anyway
biniar
Hello everyone
Evil_Bob_: http://sprunge.us/dgCc
at first glance, too many options...
my humble opinion
Evil_Bob_
biniar: can you be more specific?
biniar
i am not sure where to begin without reading all the docs
i just want to throw it a file and read my feeds :D
that's my dumbass opinion
tm512
http://sprunge.us/KeOE
Evil_Bob_
biniar: have you read the README? i made quite an effort to make sure all the tools have man pages and examples
biniar
i was hoping for the copy/paste readme
sorry for the lazy reply
Evil_Bob_
biniar: it may seem it has many options, but the format tools are all options, only "sfeed" is the base tool
*optional
biniar
I think it can be simplified a bit still
Evil_Bob_
biniar: no worries, i value your opinion, i just want to know exactly how to improve it :)
biniar
the tank of RSS/xml readers
Evil_Bob_
biniar: yea definitely i will simplify it at some point and not add any more features
there will not come much more features at this point anyway either :)
biniar
perhaps instead of sfeed_*
those could be flags for just sfeed
?
Evil_Bob_
no that will make it more complex
biniar
ah shux
Evil_Bob_
did you read the README? if its unclear i will improve it
biniar
i am working on it now
Evil_Bob_
pushed some small changes to README (will reorder the usage and examples too i think later)
biniar
should i grab them now or wait till later on?
s/grab/pull
Evil_Bob_
oh do you want to send a patch for the README?
biniar
Perhaps once i become more familiar
or if i see something that needs changing
Evil_Bob_
that would be nice :)
to start using it just do: mkdir -p ~/.sfeed; cp sfeedrc.example ~/.sfeed/; edit ~/.sfeed/sfeedrc; sfeed_update
the files will be in ~/.sfeed/feeds and you can use the format programs on them (i like to use sfeed_html)
biniar
i don't have an "edit" command
Evil_Bob_
sfeed_plain works well with dmenu
biniar: $EDITOR
biniar
DOH!
Evil_Bob_
sfeed_html works like: sfeed_html ~/.sfeed/feeds/* > feeds.html; $BROWSER feeds.html
(the README has this info too, also with a dmenu example)
biniar
i have a short attention span :P
Evil_Bob_
yeah the README is too verbose maybe or i should reorder the sections i think
biniar
aFK for a bit

tm512
yeah that's my work-in-progress kernel
Drakevr
Evil_Bob_: that edit from c9x-something?
Evil_Bob_
Drakevr: no
Drakevr
aw, what happened to that one btw?
i remember it looked interesting/promising
"OpenBSD on EdgeRouter Lite"
bummer, i expected an erlang article there
biniar
Drakevr: currently i have an old ass pc and I am looking to replace it as my firewall
to save electricity and get some fancy new device to just stare at
:)
(Action) runs away
Drakevr
not a bad idea

Evil_Bob_
biniar: updated README http://git.codemadness.nl/sfeed/tree/README the basic info required to use it is at the top now
stateless: awesome, i heard good things about tarsnap
stateless
