they're useful in the same way a fuzzer is useful
but if people actually kept some decent sense of scope in what a tool is supposed to do
instead of this "it only does everything" sh*t
Digenis
I said "not bad in itself", I mean one should question, why did it end up needing so much configurability in the first place
retard
in a weird way apps are an improvement
people can't manage windows
tiled or otherwise
Digenis
I don't mean to bury in the irc logs retard's problem with st, I'll stop here
retard
no
fu*k my problems
i'm here for discussion
:)
st is 4000 lines of code, i can sit down and work out what's happening
that's why i love it
i want more things to be like it
it is a perfect example of something very simple being made by some very intelligent people to do the work that people think requires thousands and thousands of lines of code and libraries coming out the ass
with just basic dependencies and a couple of thousand lines
__20h__
retard, send a patch with the fix.
I introduced the bug.
It was luck that I read this 4chan imitation of an IRC channel.

http://sprunge.us/HZUc
can i do this in a nicer way?
biniar
~/.tmux.conf
atmc
?
biniar
why not use the default config location instead of a seperate script?
atmc
biniar: this is not my everytime startup session
biniar
Ah
atmc
its a script to setup one specific session i need 2-3 times a day
biniar
then i have no further input
:|
unless you used seperate configs and just called each one with 'tmux -f fancy-config'
retard
__20h__: it wasn't a bug report, and i can't reproduce it reliably
or at all right now
the reason it wound up here is mainly that i fu*king loved your conversation about a protocol for negotiating a persons values and opinions before allowing access to a service
a kind of political compass with more dimensions and individual points for determining worthiness of accessing material

atmc
it should prompt 2 times
that was really posted on hackers?
thank god i'm not subscribed anymore
Evil_Bob
its more quiet since the dev -> hackers change though
but yes, its a non-suckless question
atmc
there should be a customer list
like __20h__ mentioned
Evil_Bob: i think you'd like https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pGYi1EYTkNg
watch the whole series (5 episodes)
oh https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zNrMrzH5_lg
is the first one
stateless
sup
Evil_Bob, ah nice u sent the patch
Evil_Bob
yeah finally, i had mailed reyk and pinged him, but i had no patch then, only the information about the issue (almost same text)
wrote the patch today but it is kinda ugly, i expect it to be changed
overall i like relayd, but some parts are a bit spaghetti :)
it is actually my first post to the openbsd ML, i'll sent some other httpd patches later too
dsockwell
Evil_Bob: i had the experience of trying to use a phone keyboard the other day
and
it must be for people who press one key and then have to decide what to do after that
Evil_Bob
yeah it is sh*t, i miss the tactile feedback on it
dsockwell
there was some context-dependent horse sh*t that prevented me from banging out a message by muscle memory
Evil_Bob
and its made for little chinese fingers
dsockwell
well, not only that
but they make it harder to just type
it's like you have to pay attention to it
this is re: your quip about 'configuration is evil'
Evil_Bob
huh, how is it related?
dsockwell
the phone keyboard tries so hard to predict what you're typing that it actually makes composing a text more difficult
it imposes ill-defined rules on what should be stupidly simple
Evil_Bob
yes, but in this case the default "configuration" is insane :)
when there are sane defaults, configuration is often not needed
dsockwell
what's the difference
between insane defaults and no configuration
Evil_Bob
anyway wasnt the point i was trying to make previously so im not going to discuss it like this
dsockwell
ok i'm not challenging you or anything
Evil_Bob
it is a matter of life and death
:P
to start a new point, i wish there was a truly open phone (non-android)
i dont get the android ecosystem mostly
it is reinventing everything
and its really not that open as alot of people claim
dsockwell
i think i saw a truly open cell phone yesterday
it was the size of a bible
or a big textbook
nmeum
Evil_Bob: the maemo and meego guys tried that and somehow it didn't work out
Evil_Bob
i actually followed the OpenMoko development, but thankfully didnt buy it
it failed
dsockwell
it appears i have places to e
b
so bye
Evil_Bob
cya :)
stateless
wow
i was just away for a few mins
dsockwell, you are still awake?
.. wtf
dsockwell
no, i slept
but then i woke up again
stateless
ah ok
:P
Evil_Bob
