smea: so long as I allocate the 32MB chunk up front, that should work
otherwise it'll never succeed because it won't have enough contiguous memory
I did look at appInit, so I guess I can just steal those functions instead of overriding the heap_size variable, which would seem to be a more sensible approach to me
but I never saw where that value came from
anyway all I need to do now is get 32MB ROMs loading and get sound working, then I can post an alpha
xyz
so is it faster than on vita?
endrift
xyz: yes
xyz
why
endrift
no idea
I know the Vita is underclocked a lot, but it's also a Cortex-A9 and not an ARM11 MPCore
but I do have plans for making it faster on the Vita
xyz
it's also still clocked higher than 3ds
endrift
I thought the 3DS was clocked at ~500MHz?
xyz
http://3dbrew.org/wiki/Hardware
says 268
endrift
oh, wow
I'm actually amazed at how fast it's running given that those are the specs
If it's ready, I should look into using vita-toolchain so I can actually turn all the optimizations back on
I wonder if the Vita is clocked even lower than I thought it was in my homebrew
I also wonder if the OS being more heavyweight is affecting this at all
why is mGBA randomly crashing after playing for like 5 minutes D:
exception handling or bust
I wonder if it happens in Citra too
on the plus side it runs faster than CitrAGB without the dynarec
like, noticeably
Does ShinyQuagsire know about the 565/5551 issues?
yuriks
no idea. He does know about the broken alpha blending tho :P
endrift
yeah that's a 565/5551 issue
the alpha blending is working in the wrong colorpsace
*colorspace
well
that's part of the problem
I think A and B might be backwards
or maybe OBJWIN is broken
not sure
it's broken pretty badly and I know what most of the problem is, having dealt with it myself before
also is there any way to return to the menu without quitting?
yuriks
don't think so
endrift
hmm
oh you know what
I bet I know why it's crashing
I bet the sound buffer is filling up
I need to figure out CSND
save me yuriks you're my only hope
yuriks
(Action) has literally no idea about CSND :<
now, might I interest you in REing the DSP...
endrift
:<
And I haven't seen staplebutter here in a while
StapleButter
berp
endrift
oh
I guess I haven't been paying attention
ohhh you have a +
StapleButter: I'm trying to figure out how to use CSND for use in mGBA, but I'm having a bit of trouble figuring out where to learn about it
StapleButter
oh
well you could look at blargSNES's code
Discostew made it stream perfectly
endrift
what license is blargSNES?
oh there isn't a license attached at the moment
StapleButter
GPL
the code files have GPL headers
you mean I should place an explicit license file in the code? mh
er, the repo
whatever
endrift
oh, yeah
mGBA isn't GPL so I don't want to be using GPL code
(the license is GPL compatible but still)
StapleButter
well I could let you copypaste my code and close my eyes on it
not that many people would care anyway
endrift
I'm gonna see if I can get something similar working but without doing it the same way
that might not be good enough though
If I can't, should I start poking around on 4dsdev?
ABigDeal
StapleButter: if you wrote the code you can relicense for him
or give him an exception on the license
endrift
StapleButter said that Discostew helped a lot
StapleButter
mh
[22:37:10] <endrift> If I can't, should I start poking around on 4dsdev?
you can try
linkmauve1
StapleButter, what you could do is to make a license exception for endrift.
Quite a few programs are licensed under the GPL, but with the authors selling licenses for use in proprietary software.
endrift
yeah, Qt does this
well, did
now it's LGPL
linkmauve1
This would be the same, except you would allow it to be used in another free software license, more permissive, on a per-case basis.
endrift
and here only a small part of it
linkmauve1
Closing your eyes wouldnt work, but making an explicit license for mGBA would.
endrift
I assure you I wouldn't be writing a SNES emulator
anyway
I'll try to poke at it on my own tonight
yuriks
endrift: oh, never realized you use the MPL. Neat
endrift
yep
yuriks
linkmauve1: you can't do that if you have other contributors though
linkmauve1
Sure.
