sgowen
hahha
cat sounds for everything!
Dazzozo
the current alternative, loose files, is awful tbh
if someone wants to change your files they still can, so..
sgowen
Dazzozo, that is my point
linkmauve1
Hmm, 45ms per frame.
sgowen
well, idc if someone wanted to drop in new sounds with the same name, I would just be paranoid of the game getting into a state where it doesn't have any sound because someone removed them all
linkmauve1
Also the background flickers quite a bit, the star pattern.
sgowen
yeah it does
that game looks good on Android, iOS, and Windows Phone. Getting it to work exactly as good on 3DS is proving to be challenging, but not impossible!
linkmauve1
Maybe using the native resolution for images would be better.
sgowen
oh btw, the game can be sped up using the button in the top-left corner of the bottom screen
linkmauve1, no, that's not an option, unless I want to support a custom set of textures for just the 3DS version
blah, I suppose I could... If I wanted to be SUPER OCD about it...
which i tend to do...
linkmauve1
You can just convert it on the fly.
sgowen
load them in and just shrink it all down in memory?
linkmauve1
Convert them at compile-time.
sgowen
essentially, that is what the PICA200 GPU is doing for me via the shader
ohhh, compile time
nopy
devkitarm is like playing Super Autism Bros. Melee on your 3DS
sgowen
Thinking about porting my other game Battle Bombs too once I get Insectoid Defense in tip-top shape. Battle Bombs is a cross-platform multiplayer Bomberman clone: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.technegames.battlebombs
nopy
It's nice to see mobile developers targeting 3DS now too %^)
sgowen
:)
The paradigm shift is so easy imo + buttons
nopy
Yeah and implimenting touchscreen buttons is pretty easy too :D
sgowen: are you going to let 3DS play with IOS and Android?
sgowen: That is, if you get around to battlebombs?
sgowen
oh certainly
and Windows Phone :D
