furntree
yay streetpass relay works
i met someone from australia! lol
pauldachs
I keep forgetting I even have one of those. StreetPass gets useless after a while.
furntree
yeah i could see that
i live in NYC so i think that helps for the fun too
you actually meet people on the way to work and stuff
Joostin
hey bi**hes
smea you online?
no more downgrading
Vappy
why's that
Joostin
I tried downloading an old title yesterday and it doesn't exist on NUS
Vappy
oh yeah they started removing old/exploitable titles
Joostin
and it seems they've taken down a lot of other old titles
Vappy
Joostin http://txti.es/savecdn
Joostin
I have all the files from 9.2U and 9.8U
should I send them?
Al3x_10m
i have a 4.5E nand..is it usefull?
neobrain
tbh you guys could just ask/annoy yellows8 or crediar very kindly/convincingly
Joostin
lol
Vappy
I hope at least one of them would be ok hosting an archive at least for a little while
It was all freely accessible by anyone, so shouldn't be any legal issue with it
Joostin
crediar banned me from the #3dsdev channel on Efnet because I said I was annoyed that Bubba bought a ton of CN copies to sell at elevated prices before Ninjhax was announced
Vappy
bubba's a chode
Joostin
I'm sure that's a coincidence
neobrain
content being freely accessible doesn't mean you can do whatever you like with it, in particular redistributing it.
Vappy
neobrain, the_zett has been hosting psp/vita firmware files for years with no repercussions at all, so that sets a precedent
Joostin
@neobrain a rule we all quote, even though almost none of us follow it
privately
neobrain
uh... that's not what a precedent is. it just says that one particular company doesn't care (or rather, hasn't been caring up to the present day)
other than that, I'm not saying people will get sued over things, but it's definitely not legal either.
Vappy
yeah cause it's not like half the scene hasn't been passing around leaked sdk and dev files for years already :P
neobrain
what does that have to do with anything?
Joostin
we all secretly do it, even if we don't admit it
Vappy
that concern for legality is relative, apparently
neobrain
(Action) sighs
Vappy
you know what i'm sorry, this isn't my argument to make
i'll shut up, and i apologise
neobrain
I'm just saying claiming it's legal is naive and incorrect, anything else you think or do is up to you and I don't really care about it.
Joostin
who said it was legal?
lol
megazig
12:25 < Vappy> It was all freely accessible by anyone, so shouldn't be any legal issue with it
Joostin
oh
didn't see hat
guess I was too busy bi**hing
megazig
it's not legal to redistribute those for various reasons. one being that they don't publicly link those files. two being they're copyrighted. I'll parrot neobrain, do what you want but don't claim legality
Joostin
so these AP checks, do you think they'll have any effect on playing cartridges from an older firmware?
I don't care about them if I can still play cartridges
Dazzozo
prooobably? like we can still read those carts fine in custom code with no changes
unless old process9 panics on unrecognised ncsd flags? shrug
Joostin
too poor to buy new games now anyway, so it's not a huge deal
Dazzozo
it seems to be entirely opt-in, and if old process9 doesn't know any different...
