vaguely interesting observation you may or may not care about nintendo's audio decoder seems to have somehow gone backwards in terms of audio quality in "3DS Sound" the decoder they used in DSi Sound (TWL mode) somehow produces better quality audio
angelXwind> the decoder they used in DSi Sound (TWL mode) somehow produces better quality audio << how was that tested?
endrift: Builded mGBA from the newest source and tried it again (i only changed the rsf file to enable the L2 cache). The CIA version is only roughly 1 frame faster. The general speed of mGBA decreased again :| None of the games i have runs constantly at 60 fps. The fastest ones wary depending on the situation between 48-58 fps. *vary
does it have frameskip?
It does, but older versions didn't and were running faster without it.
I also tried that new CitrAGB build. Runs fullspeed everywhere but alpha blending is still fu*ked up and the sound is completely out of sync with the video. It also has tearing for 2-4 frames at random times (i guess the recompiler causes this).
does the random stuttering also happen with RA's gpsp ? I don't have a n3DS to test it
Dunno. Have not tried it yet.
I do wonder why mGBA is getting slower like, I know I had to deoptimize it a bit to fix some blending stuff but that can't be all of it especially since that's not showing a major hit in my performance graphs
Another pull request for makerom. Now it accepts unstripped elf files like 3dsxtool.
