that is on the source tree
so it is down in hardware/tools/msp430/bin
$ find . -name 'mspdebug'
not sure why there are 2 there .. hmm
ah .. one is just a directoru
$ find . -type f -name 'mspdebug' -exec file {} \;
./build/linux/work/hardware/tools/msp430/bin/mspdebug: ELF 32-bit LSB executable, Intel 80386, version 1 (SYSV), dynamically linked (uses shared libs), for GNU/Linux 2.6.24, BuildID[sha1]=8a00d3a44de7ff2539774f66abb04330b0132390, stripped
and what directory are you in for . ?
a github clone of the energia tree
nevermind found it
there is even a tilib version (libmsp430.so)
not that it will work for the g2 launchpad
although it seems to be different than what I have with CCS 6
$ env LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/mnt/vbox/shared/ti/ccsv6/ccs_base/DebugServer/drivers ./mspdebug tilib
although if i pull the CCS6 driver and use the mspdebug in energia it works fine and doesn't make me try to upgrade the firmware on my exp430fr5969 board
although the msp430-gdb doesn't know what to make of the msp430fr5969 code
16 bit only
but that wouldn't be your problem
do you only have a g2 launchpad?
i remember having to patch mspdebug to work with msp430-elf-gcc
but i don't remember what i did
oh .. nm ... that was over a year ago (4/30/14) .. any patches should have been incorporated by now
well, either way I got bigger fish to fry now. Turns out I didn't do as well on my last job interview as I'd thought.
