Hey All!
Does anyone know if there's a list somewhere of officially supported devices?
Amp
Supported devices for what?
Also, random aside, holy fu*k, that CCS6 announcement is misleading as sh*t.
voodoofish1
Amp: what css6 anouncement?
Amp
New versions of CCS won't require subscription. Which the blog and forums ran with quite a bit to imply that CCS6 would be free.
Which is not true, they just got rid of the _recurring_ payment, you still have to pay the initial license fee.

I'm assuming for the full version....
I've only used the free memory limted version...

hello, anyone around?
XTL
Probably. Not much active chatter here, though.
voodoofish430
I'm here...now...
Rickta59
it has been very quiet here lately EnergiaFan|15880

I've been on and off for the past few months....noticed it slowly getting quiet, but every once in a while a burst of chatter occurs...

i just noticed that the msp432 has a DCOTUNE feature ..
i had missed that before ..
lets you tweak the frequency...
first read through I thought the only way to change the DCO was to use a 1% external resistor
seems to have a +4095 to -4096 range from the center
so adjusting the 12MHz frequency up I can easily get a 21.648MHz clock without stretching
seems to work fine with 0 wait states
anyone done anything with the msp432?
voodoofish430
I haven't gotten my hans on a 432 yet.
Rickta59
i'm a sucker for their hype : )
actually i bought it a while back ..
tried it
then got ADD and was off on some other tangent
and now I'm coming back to the msp432 to take a look
voodoofish430
I had considered it, but had things come up and just didn't have time....figured I should wait till I have time before grabbing anything else... :)
Rickta59
for an arm ..
you can treat it more like an msp430
the peripherals are all msp430 style
TimerA .. EUSCI
i just grabbed some code i had written for the FRAM chips and it mostly worked
clock system is its own thing
and it has a flexible power system you have to read up on
* ldo .. or a dc-dc regulator
voodoofish430
It did look pretty cool when I looked at the pages about it...
Rickta59
64k of ram is kind of nice
as is the 256k of flash
voodoofish430
I'm using CCS6, is it still fairly crippled in terms of the amount of memory/ram you can use?
I'm sure you're the wrong person to ask that... :)
Rickta59
yeah that is the one annoyting thing about it
it is an arm chip
but they limit the code size to 32k
not that i care
as I'm using gcc anyways
but i had to fix some things with it to make it work
i am using CCS .. but with the arm-none-eabi-gcc
voodoofish430
ugh, 32k only....
thats a major limiter..
Rickta59
i'm not really sure what using the TI arm compiler gets you really
linaro gcc is pretty decent
and gets a lot of love
the things i had to fix had to do with the default startup code TI provides
nothing to do with the compiler
and some header files that defined _wfi strangely
debugging with gcc and CCS .. works fine
voodoofish430
Is there a good link on setting it up?
Rickta59
i just used the wizard in CCS voodoofish430
voodoofish430
oh, does the version you mentioned of gcc come with ccs6?
Rickta59
sure
voodoofish430
Linaro?
Rickta59
all part of it, yes
voodoofish430
oh, nice :D
Rickta59
not the bleeding edge latest .. but 4.8.4 is fine
voodoofish430
cool cool.
