Rickta59
what is it up to rev 5 or 6?
username2
haha yea something like that
always ways to improve
Rickta59
so what is the oven of choice from target now?
username2
any 2 element crystal quartz since the far field infared ovens are no longer sold :(
Rickta59
why is that?
i noticed that .. but hadn't delved into why
username2
it was a temporary market hype... never caught on
not sure why they completly killed them
Rickta59
they were perfect for doing this stuff no?
username2
maybe some health concern or law suit or reliablity issue
yea, certainly better than milky white quartz elements or those terrible resistive elements
How about you Rickta59 what have you been up to?
Rickta59
hmm ..
let's see
messing about with those stm32f103 modules you can get on ebay for < $5
username2
ahhh wow
do they cost 4.30 USD? XD
Rickta59
there is an arduino port so i helped them integrate the BlackMagic Probe software into the base arduino thing
yeah
username2
really?
Rickta59
i thought that was funny too : ) .. $4.30
username2
that would be kinda funny if they did
I was just joking
Rickta59
i'm sure there are some at $4.30
username2
just to mock the launchpad haha
Rickta59
i think i paid $4.6x something for the last 3
http://www.stm32duino.com/viewtopic.php?f=37&t=122 you can see my thread there about BMP
username2
yellow 100mil headers?
haven't seen those before
Rickta59
last couple of weeks i've been playing with 6502 eumlation
and i actually got it running on the msp430fr5969 .. as that has 64k of fram that can be used like ram
username2
nice! so the FRAM stuff is finally out from TI?
Rickta59
been out for a while yeah
and now they are shipping the larger capacity units
username2
heh, guess I haven't check out in a while
Rickta59
yeah i think i sampled an msp430fr5959 .. 18 months ago?
i have it on a tssop38 breakout
kind of nice not to run out of memory or timers
but the stm32f103 running at 72MHz kind of kicks its ass
i've been going back to 3d printing .. but i'm constantly straying from the path
* the original goal of me learning electronics was to make a 3d printer
there are just so many things that catch my interest and divert it
the stm32f103 that is able to pull itself up by its bootstrap and become a debugger for itself tickles my delight in development tools
username2
hah
yea I touch my 3d printer occasionally
then get depressed and go back to electronics XD
Rickta59
heh
which one do you have?
username2
I have a prussia I3 , how about you?
Rickta59
i have a cupcake ..
which got be going
username2
I really should have paid more
Rickta59
and killed my desire for $5
5 years
when lulzbot started selling the mini i decided to take the plunge
username2
bed leveling, sticking issues, nozel clogging issues, scaling issues
Rickta59
and now that i have something that do things repeatedly successfully ..
username2
nice!
Rickta59
i was going to to try and make one
but again i keep seeing new shiny things and get distracted
username2
yea, this took 20-30 hours to put together...
Rickta59
your prussia?
username2
yup
Rickta59
i think my cupcake took 2 full weekend days
at least you have something decent when you were done ;)
username2
heh... yea... with all the issues i'm having i'm tempted to buy a new one
I can still do basic stuff
I'm surprised there isn't more stuff on thingverse
Rickta59
do you know blender 3d?
username2
I know if it
haven't used it except for a looonnggg time ago
Rickta59
https://www.flickr.com/photos/50162569@N06/16646741698/in/dateposted-public/ .. there is a built in model of a monkey
i printed him out
username2
heh awesome
Rickta59
to me though .. this is more impressive
https://www.flickr.com/photos/50162569@N06/16779417226/in/dateposted-public/
an m8 screw
with a hex head
that actually works
username2
wow!
thats awesome
Rickta59
i used to run a 3d multi user world i wrote ..
username2
see... I don't think i'd be able to make that with my printer
Rickta59
the avatar i used to ..
username2
was that with support material?
Rickta59
i gave birth to him in the real world
https://www.flickr.com/photos/50162569@N06/16385829460/in/dateposted-public/
the screw?
username2
yea
Rickta59
no i just printed it base on the bead and layer by layer for the threads
bed
https://www.flickr.com/photos/50162569@N06/16571793345/in/dateposted-public/ .. this shot glass .. actually is leakproof .. and done with one continuous extrusion
username2
heres a pic of a spool stand I made
http://i.imgur.com/iueQluo.jpg
Rickta59
that looks pretty good
username2
not nearly as good as that cup
Rickta59
