@ 120MHz
when i was playing with this before, i put all my code in ram
Spirilis
and just like tm4c123 forget about the usb, it's proprietary
Rickta59
* playing with the 1294
Spirilis
for the tm4c1294 you have to sign an NDA to get the full user manual that includes the full USB chapter b/c they use IP from another company for the USB high-speed stuff
Rickta59
really ...
never looked at that part
Spirilis
yeah and of course tivaware usblib is one of the non-open source components within tivaware
Rickta59
they sucked me in with an impulse buy
when they first came out
Spirilis
but I never bothered with the usb crap personally
yeah
TI's getting good at that ;)
Rickta59
the $16.99 ..
that is another teaser
funny .. though
so they must have multiple units not talking to each other
the msp432 comes out with cmsis-dap ..
Spirilis
yeah
they are
Rickta59
this one .. they just release it with anither ICDI thing
Spirilis
iirc msp432 was done by some folks in India
Rickta59
i heard that too
Spirilis
who, funny enough, are using a TM4C1294 to implement that CMSIS-DAP
Rickta59
i wonder where these are done
me ?
no, that is what is on the msp432 lp
Spirilis
yes
but the CMSIS-DAP debugger on the MSP432 LP is a TM4C1294 chip if you look closely
whereas the Tiva line is traditional Luminary Micro
which was based out of Austin TX iirc
Rickta59
ah .. you are right
Spirilis
not sure if they're still there, but it's probably the current incarnation of the LM team
doing these things
Rickta59
* just looking at the msp432 chip
Spirilis
either way probably easiest for them to just release the TM4C129E launchpad by merely dropping in the new chip while changing nothing else
Rickta59
i'm sure
just funny how that all works
trains and roman horses ya know
path of least resistance
Spirilis
yeah
Rickta59
did you do something with ssl and the 1294?
or was that something else i'm remembering
Spirilis
no just the CC3100/3200, added .sslConnect() which just does the simplelinkwifi API "switch to SSL" call
Rickta59
ah .. right
Spirilis
ssl already implemented in the NWP firmware on those
but yeah I wonder if the crypto engine facilitiates SSL implementations on the 129E, would hope so
Rickta59
* looking for tivaware examples ..
what is uniflash? is that a new thing?
http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/CCS_UniFlash_v3.3_Release_Notes
Spirilis
uniflash is an old thing, it's their universal flasher program I guess
Rickta59
ok .. i was using the lm4flash thing
Spirilis
e.g. uniflash for CC3xxx is used for custom re-flashing the encrypted filesystem on the CC3100/3200 and doing firmware updates
Rickta59
my tiva/stellaris boards haven't gotten much love
Spirilis
yeah me neither
actually my stellaris lp is permanently enlisted as a thermocouple monitor for my wife for the kitchen
but the TM4C123 lp's sit around a lot
Rickta59
i was just checking out nuttx yesterday
and noticed my 1294 board is supported
* from the query on nuttx by mr wirehead
Spirilis
how about that
never looked at it, just saw jpnorair's thread
supports a number of things
Rickta59
i must have looked at it before
Spirilis
PIC32 mips... even renesas SH and M16C
Rickta59
because i had it checked out in my github
heh
* i'm losing it
Spirilis
lol
haha that's funny
Rickta59
i think it was at least a year ago
i don't remember messing with it
Spirilis
huh nuttshell even resembles unix shell a bit
Rickta59
actually .. now i think i remember
i went to build it, and it wanted a bunch of utils
i started a build last night that was going on and on
buildroot crap
Spirilis
come to think of it the whole damned thing sounds very unix-y
Rickta59
more like configuring a kernel
yeah that is the idea
Spirilis
start-up behavior ... init.d/rcS
dev/ram0...
Rickta59
i guess it is supposed to be like a vxworks for opensource
Spirilis
ah I know di*k all nothing about vxworks, was that unix-y?
probably with the 'x' in the name
Rickta59
rtos-y unix
Spirilis
gotcha
Rickta59
yeah that is what we used on the flight simulator i worked on
well the part that did the rtos stuff
the other stuff was iris
Spirilis
sh*t it even has losetup
Rickta59
the bsd socket interface caught my eye
a port of thttpd ..
i've worked with that before, a half decent really small http server
Jeff Poskanzer .. he started on http stuff when he got board with pixmaps :)
Spirilis
ah
is he the ppm dude
or whatever those tools are
Rickta59
yeah pbmplus i think
Spirilis
it kinda blew my mind when I first started playing with linux how such fancy tools were available at a CLI
