sparre: maybe you can use some catchphrases from corporate bullsh*t generator :P
it was so freaking hot today... 40°C with high humidity...
(Action) wants winter again
Shark8
Humidity starts with 'H', and 'H' stands for horrible.

(Because we needed a reference to The Music Man.)
specing
I'm kinda dissapointed at SparForte right now
Key => value array initialization seems unsupported
as does the others clause
and you cannot next arrays (though you cant in bash either so thats forgivable)
nest*
or make arrays of structures
oliver117
finally, I got Ada running on the MSP432
jk4
woo? hoo?
Shark8
oliver117: Congrats.
oliver117
but the watchdog timer is active after reset and it keeps resetting the chip
will have to write a binding to stop the WDT first ...
nerdboy
got a webkit-gtk for arm testing if anyone is bored
get a large book first...
Lucretia
sparre: I don't really understand the question.
bedzzzzzzzz
OCTAGRAM
Shark8: do you know about Gela?
Shark8
Hm, that sounds very vaguely familiar; I think I read about it in some old Ada papers...
Ah, maybe not; it's a ASIS implementation... it probably came up discussing DIANA.
What about it?
jk4
and we're back

If buffer overflows are ever controlled, it won't be due to mere crashes, but due to their making systems vulnerable to hackers. Software crashes due to mere incompetence apparently don't raise any eyebrows, because no one wants to fault the incompetent programmer and his incompetent boss.

jk4
weechat on freebsd now
was weechat on debian
marino
jk4: do you have access to linux box right now?
or anybody really. I just want to see output of 'locale -a | grep "@euro"'
Visaoni
marino: on my arch laptop, got nothing. 'locale -a' only drops C, en_US.UTF8, and POSIX
charlie5
nothing on ubuntu, either
Visaoni
ubuntu... charlie5...
charlie5
on my *laptop* ... :)
jesselang: cheers for dsa info
(Action) atempts to stomp on a flickerbug
Lucretia
tired
sparre
Shark8, rtyler: The project is analysis software for seismic data. I'm not quite sure, but the case isn't lost yet.
Visaoni
charlie5: well sure, your laptop... that's what arch is for :)
sparre
darkestkhan: They are interested because of the qualities of Ada, so I don't think the corporate bullsh*t generator is needed.
Lucretia: Never mind. I'm not sure it made sense anyway.
Lucretia
wot?
o
darkestkhan
sparre: in this case you are lucky :)
oh boy, Austin Obyrne posted another misguided thing ...
I mean - doesn't he notice that "Character in ' ' .. '~'" is basically a number in certain range?
besides I wonder how one would use his program to "encrypt" Polish, let alone Chinese/Japanes/Korean
Visaoni
yeah... I was just glancing at that. didn't look too hard but seems he came up with a slightly more complicated substitution cipher
darkestkhan
more complicated?? he is simply doing character permutations!
even more, he mistyped shuffle!
Visaoni
yes, but he managed to make it (very slightly) more complicated by determining the permutations by two different factors :P
real cutting edge work, he totally showed those RSA folks how misguided they were
Dhark8
Oh, come on guys, it's just not right to mock the mentally ill / insane.
(At least that's my working-theory.)
Lucretia
so, it's official, he is nuts then?
marino: I get nothing as well
Visaoni
so I take it this sort of thing isn't out of character for him?
Lucretia
doesn't seem to be, he's quite ranty about the cryptosh*t iirc
Visaoni
Lucretia: hm, can't seem to get sdlada to build now. complains about unknown file sdl-video-textures-pixels.ads
with both v1.3.0 and the current head
Lucretia
check the gpr file, I may have committed it with an ignore file in there - comment that out.
next version will be a major change anyway
Visaoni
ah, yes. that was it
new error, of course :)
Lucretia
yeah, have that file locally, don't think I need it anymore, but.
next version moves all Create functions into a Makers package and all System.Address (where possible) are proper access types now
so a lot of internal changes
marino
Visaoni: Lucretia: i assume then that linux doesn't install locales by default
Lucretia
I'm on gentoo, so everything's pretty much, diy
marino
maybe there is some sort of locale package
Lucretia
it installs the C one by default, but you have to add your own in install, I just go with en_GB.utf8
Visaoni
trying to think what I did with locales (if anything) for arch... I might just be thinking of gentoo, and maybe I didn't do anything
*for arch
Lucretia
(Action) wishes that packages, types and variable names all had different namespaces
Visaoni
hm. test_maths_build seems to run into problems with ld not finding gnat-5.1. bleh
Lucretia
that's your compiler
nothing to do with me
(Action) is on 4.9.2
I do no checking of compiler versions or anything like that
(Action) is looking at reworking sdl-libraries so that it doesn't use address adn i'm stumped. i can't use = to check for null against a passed in access-to-subprogram when the generic type is private.
ahh, passing the "=" function
Visaoni
bleh. I hate build crap. don't know how much I've done since upgrading to 5.1, but some of my old projects seem to be compiling fine
Lucretia
hmm,mebbe not
mebbe it's a gprbuild issue
Visaoni
the thing I just tested it on was using gprbuild too
Lucretia
well, the whole build is based on it
Visaoni
sdl_build seems to go through fine, and then test_maths_build vomits
charlie5
glug ... anyone know why i might get an undefined reference linkage error like this ...
mmi-applet-sim.ads:41: undefined reference to `mmi__applet__F1509s'
where line 41 is
type Item is new mmi.Applet.item with ...
(the 'sim applet' type derives from the 'mmi applet' type)
Visaoni
charlie lives! I wasn't sure if you'd just avoided the drink tonight or managed to go quickly enough to skip the #Ada bit
charlie5
i assume mmi__applet__F1509s refers to the mmi.applet.item type
Visaoni
and I have no useful input. good luck
Lucretia
Visaoni: hmm, dunno about that. weird
trying compiling it by hand using the gpr and the params
