antranigv
it's CC :)
Lucretia
oh
kline
ace
antranigv
it will be nice to have it also for Ada (I'd be more happy to see it for Oberon)
Lucretia
(Action) wonders why there wasn't a python on the cover?
antranigv
maybe with the community we might do smthn? :))
or smthn similar
Lucretia
something using o'reilly's tools would be cool, esp if they published it too
they have some markup type tools like pandoc - or could just use pandoc -> pdf
html, et.c
antranigv
Lucretia: you use Gentoo? (if I remember correct)
Lucretia
yeah
antranigv
Lucretia: how did you install gnat?
emerge gnat-gcc?
Lucretia
if i'd looked at their sh*te Ada support first, I would've gone with arch
no, it's ancient
I built my own
antranigv
lol
Lucretia
grab these if you're on 64-bit https://www.dropbox.com/sh/7sdj4yqgj6mfz83/AAC6g_fBe2fFNyLcNfLUrimya?dl=0
antranigv
after 2 days of trying, in the end I installed it from adacore (the binary version, I coudn't compile)
kline
Lucretia: i thought the point of minimalist distros like gentoo was basically "support nothing out of the box and let the users configure it to their own liking"
Lucretia
kline: yeah, but they have support out of the box for some of the sh*ttiest languages, but in the build script for Ada, it actually says "we don't want this"
antranigv
well, I was thinking about ada on arm, more specific the Nokia N900.
Lucretia
for the --enable-languages part, i mean.
antranigv: well, you're going to be for cross dev work
so get used to building gnat
it aint easy
it's not as hard as people make it out to be, but that's because you have to find the correct configure options cos nothings written anywhere properly.
but when it goes wrong, it's not obvious at all
antranigv
Lucretia: I agree about cross-dev, however, I wanted to have gnat ON the N900, so, for example, tomorrow I'll be all day on the transportation, so I could learn some stuff on the go :P
Lucretia
kline: I was looking to extend the base gcc scripts to enable ada as that should make it possible to include ada in cross-tools as well.
but if i reinstall this machine, i'll go with arch
as charlie5 has already done the work there
antranigv
oh, so gnat is fine on arch? cool, I'll install arch on my other machine.
Lucretia
yup
antranigv
what/where is the best offine documentation? the pdf for RM?
it's about 700 pages
I like the pydoc for python (:
Lucretia
sukaeto_: an intro to Ada book would be a cool collaborative project, but should only be an intro. it should include a UI tho. a nice easy one, so a quick binding to fltk maybe?
!tell antranigv rm
antranigv
Yup, I got those installed with gnat ^^ tnx
handy :P
Lucretia
sukaeto_: in fact an intro should cover a few bases, i.e. so someone might be interested in osdev, embedded bare metal, ui, games, etc. so they know where to look to get more stuff
antranigv
all variables should be declared?
Lucretia
yup
jk4
wow what a backlog
Lucretia
woooo
