marble_visions
i am a petty person so i prefer bsd 2 clause
antranigv
If I ever write a software, I think it'll be GPL'd, so it will be for other GPL'd stuff, I think MIT/BSD can be used for non-free software, right?
marble_visions
indeed.
antranigv
I use Public domain only for literature work, translations, documents, etc.
marble_visions
PROVIDED they include attribution to your work => a name mention.
antranigv
ah, so, if I use a BSD software in my non-free software, I need to mention it?
marble_visions
you need to make available the license you've received with the bsd-licensed work somewhere
which is boilerplate + the name of the devel and the year
and that's it
i really like that aspect of the BSDs
GPL is OK at first glance, but is more difficult to work with than MIT/BSD
and if I make something of great importance, i'd rather it be used and just my name mentioned somewhere than someone else to reinvent the wheel
there is LGPL but again, it's up to courts to decide what the license means to them
where SW copyright is enforced
antranigv
you mean the country?
marble_visions
yep, i doubt that someone in africa on india will be bothered with software license infringements
s/on/or/
antranigv
anyone may check http://paste.antranigv.me/pvqklen7o ? I'm getting an error for GtkAda :/
yea, also in Armenia...
marble_visions
lib64/libm.so.6: error adding symbols: DSO missing from command line
if that's any help...
antranigv
hmm
LOL. I would add that whilst you don't have to state that your game uses this library, I would prefer it if you did, in fact, I'm asking you to.
here https://github.com/Lucretia/sdlada
marble_visions
roughly the same requirements as the BSD/MIT licenses but with fewer words :)
antranigv: are you making an ada GUI program of some sort?
antranigv
marble_visions: well, I'm installing (or trying to install) GtkAda, to learn GUI programming with Ada, as, yes, I do want to make a GUI program.
a converter, actually, ArmSCII to UTF-8 converter.
Lucretia
I would expect people move to Lumen, once that's available.
antranigv
and, yes, I think Ada will be the language I'll learn and work with if for a lo~ng while (:
marble_visions
nice.
i wanna try making some GUI (gtk?) when i've got time
currently stuck at project euler #18, which will probably need a dijstra's path finding algorithm
s/GUI/GUI programs/
s/dijstra's/dijsktra's/ i need to type slower
or get a spellchecker
antranigv
is there Qt for Ada?
marble_visions
woah, there isn't a spellchecker plugin for pidgin
antranigv
sure there is
I use it right now
(:
for multi-languages :P
which version? which distro? it has to be compiled with spellchecker support.
marble_visions
fedora latest
pidgin latest for fedora
antranigv
enter Help => Build Information
check for '--enable-gtkspell'
is it enable or disable/missing? (:
marble_visions
gtkspell enabled
so that should be a systemwide thing?
antranigv
yes, do you have aspell/enchante?
fedora usually does not have it out-of-the box
enchant*
marble_visions
Package aspell-12:0.60.6.1-10.fc22.x86_64 is already installed, skipping.
antranigv
do you have a language installed?
marble_visions
aspell-en
yep
antranigv
one thing is left
go to prefrences
conversation
and then Hightlight misspelled words
check the box
marble_visions
dude
epic.
thanks!
antranigv
yes sir!
haha
really?
did it work?
marble_visions
lets tri writink som Bee-ess
yep highlighted everything
antranigv
lol
marble_visions
i need to wrap my head around how Gtk interacts with X and the whole widget stuff and fonts and customization
my gentoo setup is pretty dope but I'm left with the default fonts and window styles
and also import a system wide spellchecker like this one :)
a.k.a. rice the hell out of it
the default fonts make my eyes bleed
antranigv
oh gentoo is easier
marble_visions
compared to fedora or your funtoo? :)
antranigv
lol, well, fedora, cz in fedora you have no idea what did the developers do, while in gentoo you know everything! cz you make everything ^_^
haha, on maemo.org: Add an Ada compiler to attract aerospace engineers
marble_visions
yeah the advantage is that you're doing everything and the disadvantage is that you're doing everything
:D
antranigv
lol
marble_visions
did you know that by default, fedora is listening on all ports from 1025 to 65535
as if there isn't iptables installed
ridiculous
saw the discussion
i thought that people are doing legit embedded programming with ada
there were toolchains available
for the most popular microcontrollers

You need a higher access level--ask the bot operator about it.
marble_visions
soon.
i summon thee, bot operator, with a request to elevate the access level of marble_visions!
ahahahahaha
i was searching for dijkstra's shortest path algorithm and was about to implement it
and then I was that the container use example in the manual is that algorithm itself
