ok I have partially finished the flake8 plugin: flake8-quotes2 (the 1 was already taken)
in your virtualenv pip install flake8-quotes2; flake8
you can redirect 2>/dev/null because it's telling you what he is not correcting
https://gist.github.com/txomon/5e9a630dc8d5c8eba723
also, it crashes in an assertion that I can't explain myself how the hell can that be happening... This is the 0.0.1 release and ready for simple string checking
https://pypi.python.org/pypi/flake8-quotes2 just in case

hm
any ideas why the file plugin doesn't list .flac files in certain directories?
it finds /var/ramdisk/03. War Eternal.flac
but it doesn't find /media/music/Melodic Death Metal/Arch Enemy/War Eternal/CD 1/03. War Eternal.flac
as soon as i enter CD 1, it says nothing found
i copied the file to my rpi's ramdisk to see if it's something about the file, but it is found and plays perfectly in a different location, mopidy.log also doesn't say anything
could it be related to too little ram/free space on the directory set to use for cache?
kingosticks
perplexa: have you tried running with the debug logging?
perplexa
perplexa is a lazy f*ck :|
will check, give me a minute
the file plugin is so slow ;/
kingosticks: was getting meta data timeouts
1sec seems too low for 30MB+ flacs
set it to 5sec, it's working again. i think i should go back to the local plugin and sqlite storage and index my files every night ;/
file backend is so slow, it's effectively unusable
adamcik
the file backends scans all the tracks in the directory when browsing it, which I should have caught in review
my thinking was that it should just list all the files to keep it fast and then only scan on lookup to get metadata when needed
but we can probably fix that and add a file/include and file/exclude setting to do some coarse filtering on extensions
perplexa
yeah just listing + getting meta when it's required would be a huge improvement
excludes/includes sound great, too. just like the local plugin kind of
jodal
txomon|home: what's wrong with flake8-quotes (the original one)?
txomon|fon
jodal, if you look into the code they don't do many checks
also, I enforce double quotes if just single quotes inside
or at least that is what it will do
just finished the first version with two basic checks yesterday
kingosticks
hmm. so the goal of the file extension really is just files . if you rely on metadata you must scan
i suppose that is fair enough
txomon|fon
hehe
adamcik
kingosticks: that was my thinking at least, make it really small and quick
as if you have things organized in such a way that you want to use the file extension the filenames should be enough
kingosticks
makes sense to me!
i must admit i only just looked at the code today and im still yet to try it
not to say i don't think it's very valuable :)
eairy
hi, is this the right place to get some help with musicbox?
kingosticks
yep
eairy
I have never used musicbox before, I have a fresh new Raspberry Pi2, loaded up the image and... it doesn't work. No sound.
I'm seeing "alsamixer/control must be set" on boot
kingosticks
you can ignore that one
eairy
and "audio/control unkown config key"
kingosticks
hmm that one is fishy
are you trying to use alsamixer?
the [audio] section does not have a 'control' option so I would guess you have a typo in your settings.ini
eairy
hmm I've been messing around trying things on forums to make it work
I've just reimaged it fresh to 0.6
"Found musixbox_webclient configuration errors, the extension has been automatically disabled:
perplexa
how hard would it be to show errors as e.g. popups in musicbow-webclient?
eairy
musicbox_webclient/musicbox unknown config key
perplexa
sometimes youtube playback fails with "audio/x-unknown cannot be played" or sth
would be great to see that kind of info in the webclient :)
kingosticks
perplexa: yes it would, i think there is a issue for mopidy exposing messages somewhere already
eairy
so does this mean there's a config error in the default config?
kingosticks
hm that option should exist
im a bit confused by that but you can try commenting it out
eairy
<sigh>
I'm sorry for wasting your time
I decided to just try downloading an mp3 and playing that
and that works fine
so there must be something wrong with the stream I'm trying to play
thanks for trying to heko
help
perplexa
kingosticks: cool
eairy
back again
I'm guessing the reason the stream won't play is it's 48khz
any idea how to fix this?
adamcik
if gstreamer 0.10 can play it on your system then we can, you can test with: gst-launch-0.10 -v -t playbin2 uri=http://example.com/...
my guess is that 0.10 doesn't like your stream but if you try: gst-play-1.0 http://example.com/...
then it will work
and yes we are moving towards upgrading to gstreamer 1.x
eairy
ooo lots of errors
http://pastebin.com/Yirx1BZT
adamcik
Cannot autolaunch D-Bus without X11 $DISPLAY can just be ignored
eairy
and the rest?
I just get dumped back at the prompt
adamcik
ah, you are playing a playlist, thats likely the problem
gst-launch-0.10 -v -t playbin2 uri=http://swr-mp3-m-swr1bw.akacast.akamaistream.net/7/245/137133/v1/gnl.akacast.akamaistream.net/swr-mp3-m-swr1bw
works for instance
eairy
ah
okay
the interface in musicbox implies using an m3u is okay
adamcik
the rest of the log is just saying what it identified the stream as, and then that it can't handle the playlist
mopidy should however handle this
eairy
thank you for the help
that's playing now from the command you pasted
adamcik
so for a workaround you can just download the playlist and add the stream that is in it
eairy
yeah, just tried that URL and it's fine
so there's something wrong with the playlist handling
adamcik
http://dpaste.com/0HWZ8V7
(when testing with 0.19.5)
eairy
is that saying there's invalid data in the playlist file?
adamcik
we don't handle the ΓΌ correctly
jodal
we or gstreamer?
adamcik
we
but this is code we got "rid of" in 1.1
or partially anyway
