(Action) listens to mopidy-spotify 2 on os x
Freso
jodal: How did it sound?
adamcik
needs more hifi
kingosticks
jodal: not looked at those docs in an age. I wanted to scrap them and get sphinx->pdf involved.
adamcik
just setup readthedocs and you get sphinx -> pdf for free
kingosticks
need to setup writethedocs too if possible
adamcik
writethedocs, as in the conference?
jodal
kingosticks: writethedocs as something else than the conference?
kingosticks
writethedocs as someone who will come along and write them
i didnt know about the conference (!)
jodal
haha
I can have a look at setting up the infrastructure at least, and maybe look at a documentation structure to put stuff under
a docs dir in the pimusicbox repo might be best, so it can be updated together with pull requests for changes that affects the docs
and then you always have the docs there, to automatically generate a PDF as part of the release when creating the zip file
Freso: m-s2 on osx sounded good to my ears :-)
kingosticks
yeh. i wasnt sure how ultimately things would be structured. in my mind it would be split out into smaller repos but maybe that has no real benefit here
at least somehow separated more like adamcik mentions in the PR rather than a big ball of /etc
jodal
then you'll probably either want to do it as mopidy, with most of the docs in the core repo, or as busterjs, where we have a buster-docs repo with just the docs
kingosticks
but then most of that stuff probably doesnt need much documention
jodal
most of the small repos will be technical stuff, while the docs will be mostly for users with links to reference docs, like lists of supported wifi dongles, audio cards, etc, I imagine
"User kingosticks does not exist" -- readthedocs.org
kingosticks
yeh ok that sounds sane
i exist :)
jodal
with time, we should get wouter to 'docs CNAME pimusicbox.readthedocs.org'
but first, we need to make the documentation :P
kingosticks
lets get that writethedocs service started
jodal
:P
kingosticks
it'll be an investment
jodal
one of my first goals will be to kill the wiki... I'm not a proponent of wikis
if you have docs and a forum, there's really no use for a wiki
kingosticks
no complaints here
jodal
kingosticks: you didn't answer how much more outdated the current docs will be with 1.0?
development in hiding, just like wouter used to do :P
kingosticks
I need to go check what they say
there are little bits to reuse but all that extension stuff should probably be pointers to their READMEs

Hi, i installed mopidy-tunein from the repro (running raspbian on my pi2), mopidy is configured with upstart and works like a charm(using spotify & the frontend mopify). However today some radio channels could not be found, in the logs i found this entry: INFO TuneIn request failed: 403 Client Error: Forbidden any ideas?
kingosticks
are you able to browse tunein normally from your web browser?
they do temporarily block your requests if you do too many in a short period but that usually only happens when an mpd client goes nuts
archedice
from my machine it works.
kingosticks
im not sure at what levels they block requests (ip + user-agent or whatever)
my first suggestion would be wait a while and try again later
they did announce tunein premium yesterday so they may be going through some api changes at some point
archedice
hmm. just installed links on the pi and browsed tunein...
is there diffrent solution, maybe adding the radio stations permanently? i only need 2 or 3
kingosticks
yeh you can get the urls and stick them in an m3u playlist
archedice
local has to be enabled then?
I'll just read the docs :D thanks :)
kingosticks
dont think so, just m3u
tbh i cant remember
archedice
seems like you are correct, just m3u.
trygveaa
ja, funket ikke
oops, s/.*//
archedice
what is the best stream format? ogg?
kingosticks
you usually just wanted the highest bitrate with radio since it's often pretty low
but when tunein offter multiple streams for a station they rank them in order of 'reliability'
archedice
my m3u playlist look like this: https://bpaste.net/show/5f0367b432ce
mopidy does load it, however when playing it gives back the following error:
2015-08-26 11:16:26,658 WARNING [3643:StreamBackend-5] mopidy.stream.actor: Problem looking up
http://mp3stream7.apasf.apa.at:8000/: Timeout after 5000ms
mplayer plays this url just fine.
kingosticks
it works for me
archedice
o.O
strem is enabled, with http and https etc enabled...
*stream
Oh wait.. the first nameserver entry is bullsh*t -> maybe that is the timeout problem..
yup. That was the problem :) thanks a lot for the help
kingosticks
so does tunein also work now?
archedice
no ^^
kingosticks
:(
archedice
i think mopify had a brainfart and just request all the streams^^
jodal
I look forward to mopify completing the rename to Mopidy-Sonate
archedice
he does have some really strange bugs in his software. For example if you search for the artist Turbobier, you do not get any resluts, although via any other mpd client you do... and when you are playing a song of them mopify suddenly knows all about it... the artists OHRBOOTEN are missing a whole album when viewing it via mopify
*resluts :D ^^ ups
kingosticks
oh good. so if you wait a bit you should be unblocked by tunein
tunein should arguably prevent that from happening....
adamcik
reminds me that I should still make that client helper lib
rate limiting, retries, exponential backoffs, sane caching etc
jodal
how much have you marketed media-progress-timer towards the mopidy web clients?
should open an issue which each of them at least
adamcik
ehm, I sent out the email at least
but not much beyond that
should work nicely though assuming the authors get that they should be tying the mopidy events to the timer
we should probably just add some mopidy.js sample code for that
as the timer API is designed to work with that API and how the events eventually come back with futures
jodal
an issue in each web client repo will force them to think about it and respond... some time...
I've just noticed that most web client progress bars are still jumpy
adamcik
I even have the nice http://adamcik.github.io/media-progress-timer/ demo page now :P
kingosticks
i am sorry i didnt get that merged yet
i tried it and had a couple of issues and then i didnt chase it up or fix them
adamcik
do let me know if the problems are on my side for any of it
kingosticks
i will do
(i cant remember right now)
adamcik
so should we start moving parts to go? https://blog.filippo.io/building-python-modules-with-go-1-5/ :P
archedice
kingosticks: is it possible to make a webFrontend "default"? so when entering ip:80 i see said interface (in mopidy not via iptables)
kingosticks
only if the webfrontend you want to use is a static one. most of them now are not
although you can sort of do it by point your staticfile config at a page that redirects to your webfrontend
s/staticfile/static_dir/
see https://github.com/pimusicbox/pimusicbox/issues/240
archedice
hm ok understood thank you :)
